Description
The Heil PR35 was built for broadcasters, recording engineers, and live sound techs who need a dynamic mic with a smooth, flat response across a wide frequency range. It’s based on the well-regarded PR30 capsule and adds a sorbothane shock mount to keep handling noise and vibration out of your signal.
Inside, a large 1 1/2″ low-mass aluminum voice coil paired with a specialized magnet structure delivers detailed, articulate sound. A hum-bucking coil is wound and positioned specifically so the PR35 stays quiet even when working near video monitors or other EMI sources. The phasing plug uses evenly spaced ports that capture rear-facing audio out of phase, producing a tight, linear cardioid pattern. The payoff: reduced proximity effect and clear articulation across a 40 Hz–18 kHz range, plus a capsule that handles very high SPL without buckling under overload.
Because it’s a passive dynamic design, there’s no need for phantom power or external DC — just plug in and go. A three-position roll-off switch gives you flat response, an approximate -3 dB cut, or an approximate -6 dB cut, so you can dial in tone for different voices or sources. The cardioid pickup pattern rejects unwanted sound most strongly from directly behind the mic (180 degrees off-axis), with minimal off-axis coloration elsewhere.
This bundle includes everything needed to start recording or performing right away:
- Heil Sound PR35 dynamic microphone with mic clip (fits any 5/8″-27 threaded stand) and leatherette carrying case
- 20′ XLR cable (MBL125)
- Telescoping boom stand (MCTB200)
Amateur radio users will need a separate CC-1 XLR cable to interface the PR35 with a transceiver.
