Description
The Aston Origin pairs a hand-selected, gold-evaporated 1″ capsule with transformer-less circuitry to capture a direct, smooth, and intimate sound. It’s a cardioid condenser flexible enough for most instruments, but it particularly shines on vocals and acoustic guitar where a natural, uncoloured signal matters most.
What sets the Origin apart physically is its wave-form mesh head. This stainless steel cage flexes under impact and springs back without damage, protecting the capsule inside while also adding a bit of off-axis rejection. Built into that same head is a mesh-knit pop filter, so plosives get tamed before they ever reach the diaphragm – no separate pop screen required. The steel mesh is removable and washable, and doubles as shielding against electromagnetic interference.
The end caps are another Aston signature: custom-moulded with an integrated XLR connection and a built-in, interchangeable stand thread. Thanks to Aston’s internal shock absorption, you can mount the mic straight onto a stand through this thread – which is exactly what the included Goby straight microphone stand is for. Each chassis is individually tumbled for up to four hours for a durable, distinctive finish, then engraved by hand.
