Description
TELEFUNKEN built the M80 to break away from the boxy, midrange-heavy sound that’s become the default in dynamic mics. Instead, it aims for something closer to condenser territory: extended frequency response, high SPL handling, and a level of nuance that works equally well on vocals, instruments, or drums, whether you’re tracking in the studio or running a set on stage.
The secret is in the capsule. A low-mass design with an unusually thin membrane lets the M80 pick up subtleties in a live vocal performance that dynamic mics typically miss, giving singers room to be expressive without losing clarity. The head and capsule geometry also work to tame proximity effect, so you get low-end definition and an open, airy top end without the mic ever tipping into harsh upper-midrange honk or feedback trouble.
Backing it all up is an American-made, custom-wound impedance matching transformer, paired with TELEFUNKEN’s proprietary capsule assembly, that gives the M80 its distinctive voice and has earned it a fast-growing following since launch.
This particular unit is an open-box demo in white finish, fully functional and ready to work.
