Description
The HD 660S2 picks up where the original HD 660S left off, keeping the open-back architecture audiophiles and mix engineers trust while addressing the one thing listeners kept asking for: more low-end presence. Sennheiser doubled the SPL output in the sub-bass region, and the payoff isn’t just deeper bass — the whole frequency range benefits from a more balanced, natural presentation.
Behind the steel mesh grille sits a redesigned 38mm driver with tighter manufacturing tolerances and a reworked magnet air gap that lets air move more freely through the housing. Less turbulence means less coloration, so instruments and vocals come through with the kind of detail that makes it easy to catch small mix issues or simply enjoy your favorite recordings in a new way. Inside, an ultra-light aluminum voice coil paired with 300 ohms of impedance keeps transient response fast and precise.
Comfort was clearly part of the design brief too — the earcups are wrapped in soft velour and the whole build stays light enough for long sessions at the desk or in the studio chair.
