Description
The Radial JDV Mk5 solves a problem every gigging musician knows well: different instruments need different treatment, but you rarely have time to fuss with settings mid-set. This 100% discrete, class-A direct box gives you two fully independent inputs so you can move between sources without breaking your tone or your workflow.
- Feed-forward class-A circuit with no negative feedback, keeping harmonic and phase distortion essentially inaudible
- Drag control lets you correct the load impedance seen by your pickup, restoring natural response that passive DIs often choke off
- 30-volt internal rails deliver generous headroom before anything starts to compress or clip
- Input 1 handles magnetic pickups and active instruments, plus a balanced mic input with 48V phantom for instrument-mounted condensers
- Input 2 adds a switchable 10 meg-ohm setting built specifically for piezo transducers
- Blend both inputs at once and align them with the built-in Radial Phazer for a mic-and-pickup combination that sounds like one cohesive source
- Independent variable high-pass filters tame boomy low-end resonance on each channel
- LED level meters keep gain staging visible at a glance
- Jensen transformer-isolated outputs kill ground-loop hum and buzz
- +4dB line-level output feeds a recording chain directly
Switch channels from the front panel or hand it off to the optional JR-2 remote for hands-free A/B switching and mute control on stage—handy for players running two basses, an acoustic with mic and pickup, or electric and upright bass through a single, trustworthy box.
