Description
Ground loop hum has a way of showing up right before a session or gig starts, and the Radial IceCube IC-1 is built to make it go away fast. It’s a passive, transformer-based line isolator that sits between two balanced XLR devices and breaks the loop causing that low buzz, without touching your gain structure or tone.
Inside is a custom-wound Eclipse transformer that keeps the signal path exceptionally linear across 20Hz-18kHz, so you’re not trading noise for a dull top end or squashed low end. A ground lift switch is on hand for the stubborn cases where isolation alone isn’t quite enough. Because it’s fully passive, there’s no wall wart, no batteries, and nothing extra to plug in or maintain.
Typical spots to use it: between a DJ mixer and the front-of-house console, ahead of a power amp fed by a crossover, or wherever a console connects to a remote stage or tower with its own power source. Any time two pieces of gear on different power circuits start talking to each other through the audio cable, the IceCube gets inserted and the hum stops.
