Description
This is a demo unit of the Heil PR20UT, the no-frills version of the acclaimed PR 20 dynamic microphone. Heil didn’t touch the mic itself to hit this price point – they just skipped the extra swap-on grill colors and the padded case. What you get is a full PR 20 in a vinyl zipper pouch with a mic clip and foam windscreen included, ready to work.
Under the hood it’s identical to the standard PR 20: a large-diameter, low-mass aluminum diaphragm paired with a strong neodymium magnet assembly, housed in a steel body finished in matte black epoxy with a stainless mesh grill. That combination delivers a wide 40Hz-18kHz frequency response and handles SPL up to +140 dB without flinching, so it’s just as comfortable on a screaming guitar cab as it is on a vocal or podium mic.
The cardioid polar pattern gives you consistent front-to-back rejection with -35 dB of isolation at the rear, which keeps monitor bleed and stage noise out of your signal. At 600 ohms balanced impedance and -55dB output at 1,000 Hz, it plays nicely with standard mic preamps and mixers.
If you’re outfitting a studio, stage rig, or house of worship system and don’t need the collectible packaging, this is the practical way to get pro-grade PR 20 performance.
