Description
This is a gently used demo unit of the Heil PR 22, a dynamic vocal microphone built to move past decades-old capsule designs still common in the industry. It’s priced accordingly as an open-box/demo item, but delivers the same engineering as a new PR 22.
- Handles SPL up to +140dB, so it won’t distort on loud snares, guitar cabs, or belting vocalists
- Large 1-1/8″ low-mass diaphragm paired with a neodymium/iron/boron magnet structure for strong output and detail
- Linear cardioid pickup pattern with as much as 40dB of rear rejection, keeping off-axis stage bleed and monitor spill out of the signal
- ISO BAND suspension (patent pending) uses Sorbothane rubber to kill handling noise in the 50-100Hz range, without sacrificing low-end response the way ball-style mics do by band-stopping below 125Hz
- Full-range response extends down to 50Hz and up to 18kHz, giving vocals body without a boomy proximity effect or awkward hot spot
Because of that low-end extension and clean top end, the PR 22 works equally well as a lead vocal mic on stage, a broadcast mic, or an instrument mic on snare or guitar cab in the studio. Heil Sound has built communications and vocal microphones since 1982, and the PR 22 reflects that background in phase coherence and pattern control.
Included with this unit: a leatherette carrying bag, mic clip, and three metal wind screens in black, silver, and gold.
As a demo model, it’s been lightly used for display or testing but is fully functional and ready to work.
