Description
The SV33 is Earthworks’ answer to a simple question: what if a vocal mic could sound as accurate as their famous measurement mics, but with the warmth a singer actually wants to hear? The result is a front-address condenser built around a 14mm capsule that captures true detail without smearing tone or adding artificial sheen.
What sets the SV33 apart is its cardioid pattern, engineered using Earthworks’ patented polar technology to stay consistent up to 80 degrees off-axis. In practice, that means a vocalist can lean, turn, or move naturally while tracking, and the mic won’t punish them with tonal shifts or level drops. Rear rejection is excellent, so bleed from headphones, monitors, or a noisy room stays out of the take, while anything picked up off-axis still sounds honest rather than thin or hyped.
- Front-address design with 14mm capsule
- True cardioid polar pattern
- Frequency response: 30Hz–33kHz (±2dB at 5 inches)
- Self-noise: 15dBA, yielding 79dB S/N ratio
- Handles up to 145dB SPL
- Built-in windscreen and low handling noise
Each SV33 is handmade at Earthworks’ New Hampshire facility and finished in a low-glare, durable Nextel Dark Black aluminum body. A flexible mounting bracket is included for boom or stand placement, along with a custom carrying case for storage and transport.
For home and project studios chasing a mic that reveals a performance rather than reshaping it, the SV33 offers a rare combination: measurement-grade accuracy in a purpose-built vocal microphone.
