Description
The Earthworks M50 is a precision omnidirectional measurement microphone designed for work where accuracy can’t be approximated. If you’re validating loudspeaker designs, running quality control, conducting scientific research, or capturing ultrasonic and subsonic transducer behavior, this is the tool that removes the microphone itself as a variable.
Its frequency response runs an extraordinarily wide 3Hz to 50kHz, staying flat across that entire range rather than tapering at the edges. The omnidirectional capsule keeps its response coherent both on-axis and off-axis, so measurements stay trustworthy regardless of source angle. A 140dB SPL handling capacity means it stays clean and distortion-free even under demanding acoustic loads, and temperature-compensated internal electronics keep readings consistent across changing environments.
Impulse response is fast and phase behavior is linear, which is exactly what FFT-based measurement platforms like SMAART, SIM, REW, Electroacoustics Toolbox, and FuzzMeasure need to produce reliable results. It’s equally suited to PA system alignment work and detailed loudspeaker development.
Every M50 is hand-tuned, individually tested, and shipped with its own printed frequency response chart plus access to a downloadable Electronic Calibration File after registration.
