Description
The Trion 7000 pairs two ultra-thin aluminum ribbons inside a shared magnetic field, giving you extra sensitivity over a single-ribbon design while keeping that classic figure-eight ribbon character. Each ribbon moves in response to sound pressure, generating a natural, low-noise electrical signal that translates into a smooth, rounded tone rather than a harsh, forward one.
That dual-ribbon setup makes it a strong choice for thickening guitar amp stacks, softening brass and woodwinds, and giving studio vocals a vintage warmth that’s hard to get from condensers or standard dynamics. It’s equally at home on acoustic instruments, strings, cabinets, piano, and voice-over work where a smoother top end is welcome.
Because it’s a figure-eight pattern, it picks up equally from front and back while rejecting sound from the sides, useful for room-blending techniques or capturing two sources at once. An elastic shockmount is included to isolate the ribbon element from stand and floor vibration, and it ships in a metal travel case for storage and transport between sessions.
