The Pro49QL is Audio-Technica’s answer to fixed-installation speech pickup — a cardioid condenser capsule mounted on a rigid double-gooseneck that plugs straight into any standard XLRF-type surface or cable connector. There’s no external power module to wire in: the electronics live inside the mic body, so setup is really just plug it in and aim it.
At 16.46″ overall length, it reaches comfortably across a lectern or conference table while staying visually unobtrusive. The wide-range condenser element uses a low-mass diaphragm to keep the frequency response flat and smooth, so spoken word comes through clear without needing extra EQ. The gooseneck itself is built for the long haul — quiet, fixed-placement, and rated for repeated day-to-day use in installed sound systems.
