Description
When your source is loud, fast, and full of low-end energy, the ATM250 is the mic that keeps up without flinching. It’s a hypercardioid dynamic designed specifically for close-mic work on kick drums, toms, congas, brass, and other high-output instruments where a condenser would choke or color the sound too much.
The rare-earth neodymium magnet drives strong output and quick transient response, so hard hits and fast attacks come through clean instead of smeared. Low end is thick and present rather than thin or boxy, which is exactly what you want parked in front of a kick drum. The tight hypercardioid pattern keeps rejection strong off-axis, so bleed from cymbals, snare, or nearby amps stays out of the channel and you get more headroom before feedback becomes an issue live.
Build quality is all-metal, meant for stages and studios that see a lot of use, and the XLRM output connector uses gold-plated contacts to resist corrosion over time.
- Handles very high SPL right up close to loud sources
- Warm, big low-frequency response with real presence
- Hypercardioid pattern for tight side/rear rejection and better isolation
- Neodymium magnet for stronger output and faster transient response
- Rugged all-metal housing built for the long haul
- Gold-plated XLRM connector resists corrosion
