Description
The ART TPSII pairs two channels of tube-driven preamplification with V3 (Variable Valve Voicing), giving you a set of tone starting points tailored to guitars, bass, synths, acoustic instruments, percussion, and vocals rather than a one-size-fits-all gain stage. Variable input impedance lets you match the preamp’s response to whatever mic you’re running, from large-diaphragm condensers to ribbons, so you’re not fighting the electronics to get a usable tone.
Each channel is hand-fitted with a selected 12AX7A dual triode tube and can absorb +20dB peaks while still holding over 120dB of dynamic range, with distortion kept remarkably low for a tube design. Built-in OPL (Output Protection Limiting) catches overshoots before they clip, so unexpected level spikes don’t ruin a take. Metering is handled by two analog meters plus two LED input meters, giving you a clear read on gain staging at a glance.
Beyond mic preamplification, the TPSII doubles as a direct box with impedance matching for instrument and line-level sources, accepting High-Z instruments or balanced mic signals through both front and rear panel jacks.
