Multi-destination shows need multi-destination signal paths, and the ART S8-3Way handles that job without complication. This 8-channel splitter takes each XLR mic or balanced line input and turns it into three independent balanced outputs: one direct XLR output plus two transformer-isolated XLR outputs per channel.
That layout maps naturally onto a typical live production setup — direct outs run to your front-of-house console, while the two transformer-isolated feeds go off separately to a monitor mix position and a remote recording or broadcast desk. Because the isolated outputs are transformer-based, each destination stays electrically separate from the others, which helps keep ground loops and ground-related noise out of the signal chain when multiple consoles or systems are tied into the same source.
Inside, the S8-3Way uses the same high-quality, musically transparent transformers found in ART’s original S8 splitter, giving you 8 of them total across the unit. The passive design means no external power is required, and the wide frequency response with very low voltage insertion loss keeps the signal sounding like the source, not like the splitter.
It’s built into a standard 1U steel rack chassis meant to hold up over years of touring, fixed installs, or studio use, and the rack ears are reversible so you can adjust mounting depth to fit your rack layout.
