Description
The ART Pro MPA-II gives you two channels of variable-impedance, tube-driven preamplification built to coax more character out of dynamic and ribbon mics that usually sound flat through a stock preamp. Each channel runs through a hand-selected 12AX7 tube with switchable low/high plate voltage, so you can push toward cleaner headroom or richer tube coloration depending on the source. Adjustable input impedance from 150 to 2400 ohms means you’re not locked into one voicing — a ribbon mic on a vocal can sound completely different than the same mic on a snare, just by turning a knob.
Need a stereo pair instead of two independent channels? Flip into linked stereo or dual-mono mode, with mid/side decoding built in for M/S recording setups. A front-panel instrument input with auto-detection means you can track a DI’d bass or guitar without hunting for cables. Big backlit VU meters track output level at a glance, while multicolor LED arrays show you exactly how hard the tubes are being driven.
Everything lives in a 2U steel rack chassis with a CNC-milled, black anodized faceplate — built for a studio corner that never moves or a road case that gets thrown in a van every weekend.
