Anytime you need to feed a line-level source into equipment expecting mic or instrument level, the Dual RDB handles the conversion cleanly and without added noise. It’s built around two isolation transformers, so connecting a computer, mixer, iPod, or A/V deck to XLR mic inputs or 1/4″ instrument inputs won’t introduce ground loop buzz between the two systems.
Inputs accept both 1/4″ TRS and XLR at line level; outputs are transformer-isolated at mic or instrument level. Each channel has its own variable level control (with mute), so you can dial in gain right at the source instead of chasing levels back in the rack or control room. Frequency response runs a full 20Hz to 20kHz, keeping the signal path transparent rather than coloring your source material.
A couple of extra switches make this more flexible than a basic DI: Channel Two can be set to pull from either its own input or Channel One’s, and it has its own phase switch for correcting polarity issues when routing stereo or dual sources.
