At the core is a large 1-inch, low-mass voice coil paired with a neodymium-iron-boron magnet structure, engineered to drive consistent performance across the frequency range. Heil’s phasing plug design pushes rear rejection past -40 dB at 180 degrees off-axis, so unwanted room noise and bleed from behind the mic stay well controlled. Up front, the cardioid pattern stays forgiving — you can shift position slightly while speaking or singing without hearing the tone change.

What sets the PR77D apart is its two-position switch. Flip to Voice mode for a low-end roll-off starting at 120 Hz (-6 dB/octave), which tightens up speech and cuts proximity rumble. Switch to Music mode to open the full 60 Hz–16 kHz range for a fuller, more natural capture of instruments or singing.
