Description
If your mixes sound dull, distant, or oddly muddy coming out of the speakers, it’s not always the source material—it’s the speaker itself struggling to keep fundamental and harmonic frequencies in sync. The BBE 482i tackles that problem directly with true dual-mono processing: two completely independent BBE Sonic Maximizer circuits packed into a single rackspace, so you can run stereo or two separate mono feeds with equal precision.
Built for setups that don’t need balanced connections—home studios, DJ rigs, PA and nightclub systems, or an instrument rack for guitar, bass, and keys—the 482i uses unbalanced RCA and 1/4″ ins and outs to keep wiring simple. A hardwire bypass switch lets you A/B the processed signal against the raw source instantly, and dual 5-segment LED meters give you a visual read on output level per channel.
Under the hood, BBE’s patented process (42 patents strong) corrects the phase and amplitude smearing that speakers introduce, restoring clarity and definition to notes that would otherwise blur together. Headroom sits at +18dBu, with THD under 0.025% in process mode and a 112dB signal-to-noise ratio, so the correction stays clean rather than adding its own coloration.
This bundle throws in four 20′ XLR cables at no extra cost, so you can wire the unit into your rack and connect to your mixer or amp without a separate cable order.
