The Tube MP Project Series does double duty: it’s a discrete tube preamp for mics, instruments, and line-level gear, and it’s a USB audio interface that sends that signal straight into your computer. Instead of running a separate box between your preamp and your recording software, this one unit handles both jobs.
The USB connection uses a Type B port on the back panel and is fully USB 1.1 compliant, working with Windows 98SE through Vista and Mac OS 9.1 and later. Hot-swapping means you can plug or unplug it without shutting your computer down first — handy if you’re moving it between sessions or rigs.
On the audio side, the front end is extremely low-noise and discrete, delivering up to 70dB of clean, musical gain with plenty of output drive to spare. A fast FET limiter guards against sudden overloads, while switch-selectable input impedance lets you tailor the tone to different mics and sources. Precision LED metering keeps your levels visible at a glance, and the built-in low-noise phantom power supply means condenser mics are ready to go without extra gear.
