Description
Ribbon and dynamic microphones often need more than what a standard preamp gain stage can offer, especially once you’re running a long cable back to your interface. The ART Dual RP solves this by sitting in-line, adding clean, low-noise gain right at the source so your signal stays strong and quiet all the way to your recording rig.
Each of the two channels includes a variable impedance control (150 ohms to 10k ohms), letting you dial in the load to match your mic’s character rather than settling for a fixed setting. The discrete internal circuitry keeps distortion extremely low, so you get amplification without picking up unwanted coloration or noise along the way. A balanced output on each channel means you can confidently run longer cable lengths without worrying about signal degradation or interference creeping in.
Power comes from standard +48V phantom, so there’s no separate power supply to manage, and a switchable 100 Hz low cut filter is on hand for taming rumble or proximity buildup when needed.
- Switchable 100 Hz low cut filter
- Variable impedance control (150 ohms – 10k ohms)
- Clean gain: 28dB at 10k ohms, 20dB at 600 ohms
- Runs on +48V phantom power
- Low THD discrete circuitry (<0.002% @ 1kHz typ.)
- Balanced outputs
For anyone leaning on ribbon or dynamic mics as workhorses in a home or project studio, the Dual RP is a straightforward way to get more usable signal without adding noise or complexity to your chain.
