The Tank Driver is a 500 series module built to bridge the gap between studio line-level gear and the spring reverb tank sitting inside a guitar amp. Instead of letting that tank sit idle, you can feed it vocals, drums, or any recorded track and capture the tank’s natural splash and decay as a return signal — essentially a Reamp-style box dedicated to spring reverb.

A transformer-coupled output driver anchors the design, with normal and high settings so it plays nicely with both vintage and modern tank designs. Independent drive and return controls let you dial in the right amount of signal into and out of the tank, keeping noise low and headroom high. Two tone controls round things out: one shapes the shimmer up top, the other manages the boom down low, so the returned reverb sits right in a mix.

Setup is straightforward: pull a spring tank from a nonworking amp, or tap into the two RCA jacks feeding the reverb circuit in an amp like a Fender Twin, and route through the Tank Driver. Since tank size affects decay length — smaller tanks decay faster — swapping tanks becomes its own sound-design tool. Run two units for a stereo pair and you can push an entire stereo drum bus through matched tanks, preserving the stereo image while adding a genuinely analog, physical reverb character that’s hard to fake digitally.
