The AT8033 is built for the studio owner or field recordist who needs one mic that won’t flinch at loud sources or subtle ones. Its fixed-charge back plate condenser element delivers a 30-20,000 Hz frequency response with strong linearity both on- and off-axis, so instruments and voices sound consistent whether they’re centered on the capsule or slightly off to the side.

Because it’s a cardioid design, the AT8033 rejects sound arriving from the rear and sides, helping isolate your source from room noise and neighboring instruments. That makes it equally comfortable as an overhead on a drum kit, a spot mic on acoustic guitar or percussion, a handheld for interviews, or a vocal mic in the booth.

Flexibility extends to power: run it on standard 11-52V phantom power for maximum headroom (137 dB SPL max, 113 dB dynamic range), or drop in a single 1.5V AA battery for untethered use away from a mixer or interface, rated for roughly 1200 hours on an alkaline cell. A flat/roll-off switch lets you tame low-end rumble at 80 Hz (12 dB/octave) when needed.
