Description
The NT1 5th Generation keeps the smooth, low-noise character that made the original NT1 a studio staple, then rebuilds it around modern connectivity. RODE’s patent-pending Dual Connect output lets you plug in via traditional XLR for your interface and preamp chain, or switch to USB for a plug-and-play digital signal — no separate mic needed for either workflow.
Inside is the HF6 1-inch true condenser capsule, tuned for a flat, natural frequency response with strong sensitivity and high SPL tolerance, so it holds up on loud sources without distorting. RODE rates the self-noise at just 4dBA, making this one of the quietest studio condensers available, ideal for picking up subtle detail on vocals, acoustic guitar, piano, or room mics on drums and percussion.
On the USB side, the mic handles its own analog-to-digital conversion at up to 192kHz, includes a world-first 32-bit float digital output so clipped recordings become a non-issue, and runs on-board DSP with APHEX processing for extra polish before the signal even hits your DAW.
The body is machined aluminium with a durable finish, and this listing is the silver variant. RODE designs and builds the NT1 5th Gen at its Sydney, Australia manufacturing facility.
