Description
The Peavey VCM 3 solves a common coverage problem: how do you mic a choir or ensemble without cluttering the stage with stands and cables in view? This miniature choir microphone is made to be suspended from above, staying out of sight while capturing a wide group source for live reinforcement or recording.
Its back-electret condenser capsule uses a cardioid polar pattern, so it focuses on sound coming from below while rejecting noise and feedback from the sides and rear. Because it’s a condenser design, it needs phantom power to operate, and the VCM 3 accepts a wide 9 to 52 volt range, making it compatible with most standard mixer or preamp phantom supplies.
Peavey ships the VCM 3 ready to rig overhead right out of the box. Included in the package:
- A 10-meter slim profile microphone cable for running the signal down from a ceiling or truss mount
- A foam windscreen to cut down on breath noise and airflow interference
- A wire-form hanging adapter for suspending the mic cleanly above the performance area
The white finish blends into typical ceiling and stage backgrounds, keeping the setup visually unobtrusive. Whether you’re outfitting a house of worship, a school auditorium, or a small studio for choir and ensemble recording, the VCM 3 gives you a dedicated overhead solution without the bulk of a full-size condenser rig.
