The Heil PR77D is a cardioid dynamic mic designed to handle the demands of commercial broadcast, podcasting, and studio or home recording with equal ease. At its core is a large 1-inch, low-mass voice coil paired with a neodymium-iron-boron magnet structure, giving it a smooth, flat response, quick transient handling, clear speech articulation, and low intermodulation distortion.

A carefully engineered phasing plug assembly delivers strong rear rejection—over -40 dB at 180 degrees off-axis—so unwanted sound from behind the mic stays out of the picture, while the front pickup pattern stays consistent even as you shift position in front of it.

What sets the PR77D apart is its two-position switch, letting you tailor the frequency response to the task at hand. Flip to Voice and the mic rolls off below 120 Hz at -6 dB per octave, tightening up speech for broadcast or podcast work. Switch to Music and that filter drops out entirely, opening the full 60 Hz to 16 kHz range for instruments or fuller vocal capture.

Built exclusively for boom or base mounting with a standard 5/8″-27 stand thread, the PR77D is meant to live on a mic arm or stand rather than be handheld.
