The Heil PR30 takes the dynamic mic formula and pushes it further, using a large-diameter, low-mass quilted aluminum diaphragm to capture a warm, extended top end that recalls a ribbon mic’s character — minus the fragility. That means you get smooth upper mids and detail on electric guitar cabs, brass, and vocals, while still shrugging off high SPL sources without breaking a sweat.

Heil Sound has built its reputation since 1982 on precise phase control, and it shows here: the PR30’s cardioid pattern offers strong rear rejection, keeping bleed and off-axis noise out of your signal. A neodymium-iron-boron magnet structure gives the mic serious output and dynamic range, while a dual-mesh screen with an internal breath filter lets performers work close to the capsule without popping or harsh sibilance creeping in.

Inside, the element sits in a shock-mounted, non-resonant fixture that isolates it from the steel body, and a built-in hum-bucking coil keeps the mic quiet even near lighting rigs or monitor wedges. This unit is offered as a demo model.
