Description
The Heil Sound PL2T “Topless” boom is built for broadcast and radio setups where a clean desk matters as much as a stable mic position. Internal springs keep the arm perfectly counterbalanced, so once you set your mic’s height and angle, it stays put—no drift, no sag, and no creaking hardware to distract listeners on-air.
What sets this boom apart is its cable management. Pop off the top and back cover plates, run your microphone cable straight down the spine of the arm, then snap the covers back on. The result is a broadcast-console look with zero exposed wiring, which is exactly what you want when the camera or webcam is pointed at your setup.
The PL2T ships with a standard C-clamp that fits table edges up to 1.5″ thick. If you’d rather not clamp, an optional flush mount is available separately and screws directly into the desk surface for an even lower-profile install.
Mic compatibility is straightforward: the boom’s chrome threaded stem uses the industry-standard 5/8″-27 thread, so any Heil mic clip or shock mount—and most third-party ones—will thread right on and lock securely at whatever angle you need.
