Description
The Earthworks DK7 gives you a matched, ready-to-track mic package for a full drum kit, without hunting down individual pieces one at a time. Inside you get four DM20 cardioid condensers for snare and toms, a pair of SR25 cardioid condensers for overheads, and a single SR20LS engineered specifically to handle the low-frequency punch and pressure of a kick drum.
Earthworks built its reputation on transparent, uncolored capture, and this kit carries that philosophy through every element. The cardioid capsules maintain a consistent frequency response across the entire pickup field, so moving off-axis doesn’t warp the tone the way it can with lesser mics. On the flip side, rejection at the rear exceeds 30 dB, which helps keep adjacent drums from bleeding into channels they shouldn’t be on — a real advantage when you’re mixing a multi-mic kit or running live sound and need clean separation.
Each DM20 sits on a stainless steel gooseneck stiff enough to resist vibration from hard hits, with a right-angle capsule head for quick positioning around rims and shells. Frequency response runs 50 Hz to 20 kHz, rear rejection hits 32 dB, and the mics tolerate SPLs up to 150 dB — enough headroom for aggressive drummers without distortion. A fast-settling diaphragm keeps rapid-fire transients like snare rolls or double kicks from smearing together.
The DK7 arrives with rim mounts for the DM20s, standard clips for the SR25s and SR20LS, windscreens for each mic, and a rugged case for storage and transport between sessions or gigs.
