Every M23 ships with its own individual calibration chart, showing measured open-circuit sensitivity and frequency response curve — no guessing, no generic averages. An electronic calibration file is also available. Sensitivity runs at 30mV/Pa (-30.5dBV/Pa), max acoustic input hits 142dB SPL, and self-noise is a low 22dB SPL equivalent (A-weighted). Output is via balanced XLR at 100Ω impedance, with a minimum load of 600Ω between pins 2 and 3.
Built compact and light at 165mm x 22mm and just 160g, the M23 operates reliably from -10°C to +40°C and stores safely between -20°C and +50°C. Earthworks recommends re-calibration every five years to keep readings trustworthy over the long haul.
