Description
The Electro-Voice ND76S is a cardioid dynamic microphone tuned to keep vocals sitting clearly at the front of a mix, making it a solid pick for stages and rehearsal spaces in the small-to-medium size range. Unlike the standard ND76, this version adds an on/off switch right on the mic body, so performers can mute or unmute without relying on the mixer.
At its core is a large-diaphragm capsule from EV’s N/Dym lineage, engineered to push clarity and balance further than earlier designs. Combine that with a shock-mounted capsule that isolates the diaphragm from handling noise, and low-end thumps, bumps, and cable knocks stay out of your PA.
A humbucking coil is built in to reject electromagnetic interference, so the mic stays quiet even when working close to amp racks, speaker cabinets, or other gear that tends to generate hum. On the outside, EV’s Memraflex grille is a tight-mesh design made to shrug off dents and rough handling on the road or on a busy stage.
- Cardioid dynamic capsule tuned for clear, forward vocal reproduction
- Best suited to small-to-medium sized venues
- Shock-mounted capsule reduces handling noise and low-frequency thumps
- Humbucking coil rejects hum from nearby electrical equipment
- Memraflex grille resists denting under heavy use
- Onboard on/off switch for muting directly at the mic
Part of EV’s broader ND Series, the ND76S is built with the mechanical refinements that make setup straightforward for engineers and comfortable handling for vocalists night after night.
