The SS-10 from AMT’s ProStudio Series is built to be the single guitar preamp that handles every tone your sessions demand. Rather than relying on modeling or hybrid tricks, it runs a fully tube-driven 4-stage preamp section (2x 12AX7) that delivers real harmonic character across a huge tonal range u2014 from vintage-inspired cleans through classic 80s crunch, bluesy overdrive, and modern high-gain metal lead tones.

Three dedicated channels: Clean, Crunch, and Lead, switchable via front-panel buttons or the optional AMT FS-2 footswitch

The Clean channel uses Low, Mid, and High tone knobs alongside a 3-position EQ voicing switch, giving you three distinct tonal starting points that you can then shape further u2014 useful for matching different pickups or dialing in anything from warm and driven to bright and shimmering.

Crunch handles the in-between territory: blues drive, classic rock grind, and vintage hair-metal rasp, controlled via Gain, Level, Low, Mid, High, Presence, and a 3-position Treble Shift switch.

Lead is where the SS-10 gets serious u2014 built for aggressive playing and drop-tuned guitars, with the same control set as Crunch (Gain, Level, Low, Mid, High, Presence, Treble Shift) but voiced for maximum saturation and sustain.

At just 3.5 inches deep and a single rack space, it tucks easily into a studio rack or even a pedalboard setup.
